OUR HISTORY

In May 2004,  New Life AWC of the San Fernando Valley had it's beginning in Arleta, California under the Apostolic Assembly, Los Angeles District.   Founding pastor, Reverend Jesse R. Cornejo Sr. was given approval by his former pastor, David Hernandez Sr. of Family Life Center. But most importantly, he was given approval by the Lord.

Their first English service was held in May 2004 with his wife, Dahlia, and children Jesse Jr., James, and Janelle.  Church services were held in a small rented church on Brandford St in Arleta, California, while Tuesday night bible studies were held in the Pastor’s home.  By June 2005, AWC found its’ new home in 13230 Van Nuys Blvd Pacoima, California.   This location was once a house full of sin until the Pastor and some church helpers completely re-constructed the building for “Church.”  At times, Pastor Jesse was literally alone in working on the construction which seemed never ending.  Of course, God always there even when he felt alone.  The calling and vision he had pushed him to keep going, as well as support from family, friends and church helpers.  At the conclusion of the construction, AWC was blessed with donated used furniture.

In the same month of June 2005, AWC’s Lifeline Rehabilitation Center was opened with 3 residents from Family Life Center, CA.  While Pastor Jesse was the only ordained minister, new converts quickly became involved in working with the Pastor and his family.

In 2014, AWC was led to its’ present location at 12541 Van Nuys Blvd, Pacoima where Lifeline for men continues and in January 2011, Lifeline Ladies had its beginning.

On April 16, 2018 the church changed its name to New Life. This was intended to signify the resevoir of power carried in the name of Jesus to make any old life– brand new.

It has been more than an exciting time in building-up God’s kingdom in Pacoima.  It has been miraculous.  God has been our strength through much trial and tribulation.  We highly believe, “And let us not be weary in well doing for in due season ye shall reap if ye faint not.”  Galatians 6:9.
